Albert Camus once said that "one must imagine Sisyphus happy." Otherwise, when we find ourselves pushing that rock endlessly up the hill, we may lose heart. We can think of few tasks in the course of human endeavors more Sisyphean than attempting to make and sell music in the dreaded
Too Much Information Age - a true Fool's Errand if ever there was one. We trust that you, the discerning music consumer, are different than those who confuse musical exploration with how many social media sites you can link to in the endless search for "likes." Since by now it is common knowledge that most social media buzz is bought and paid for in the same under-the-table manner that disc jockeys took payola in the old days, we assume you have come here looking for "music" - not hype. And that is what you are going to find. And while we grant you that it is impossible to distribute music these days without an online presence such as this wonderful site, which we are exceedingly thankful for, we maintain that it is ultimately mystery, not marketing, that sells records over the long haul. So don't expect to find endless feeds on what our artists had for breakfast or whether they just had a nice visit to the toilet and want to share about it on Instagram. Like you, we don't want to be "liked" - but we don't mind the chance to earn your respect...
